New Course: Learning Markdown

We’ve published Learning Markdown, a new short course teaching Markdown to interns and members — how to write clean, well-structured Markdown, and how to tell universal syntax apart from the extras that only work in some places (like GitHub’s).

The course is self-paced and takes roughly 1–1.5 hours end to end, spread across five short modules, no prior Markdown experience assumed. It closes with a practical exercise: keeping an internship diary in Markdown. Modules are bilingual (English and German).

To work through it, click “Use this template” on the repository to get your own copy — there’s no forking or pull requests needed here (that’s covered separately in our Git and GitHub course).

The course was put together primarily for our interns, but it’s written so members, volunteers, or the public can pick it up too, and the materials are openly licensed (CC BY 4.0).

This is the first version of the course, and we’d welcome any feedback — feel free to open an issue on the repository or get in touch.
